The PDT does not consider the possibility of giving up the candidacy of Ciro Gomes to the Presidency of the Republic in 2022. The declaration was made on Capital Letter by the national president of the acronym, Carlos Lupi, this Thursday 1.
“Ciro’s candidacy is a decision made, we want to win allies for our national development project that is personalized by Ciro,” said Lupi.
The day before, Ciro signed a manifesto with five other presidential candidates in which he rejected “authoritarianism” and defended “freedom”. The text was released on the date that marked the 57th anniversary of the 1964 military coup.
In addition to Ciro, João Doria (PSDB), Eduardo Leite (PSDB), Luiz Henrique Mandetta (DEM), João Amoêdo (Novo) and Luciano Huck signed the text.
In the wake of the manifesto, the newspaper Economic value informed on Thursday that the PDT admits the possibility of not launching Ciro ao Planalto, if this is necessary to build a consensus candidacy against President Jair Bolsonaro.
