Fla: Ceni praises debut of starters and aims at Palmeiras: “Great team”

Coach Rogério Ceni praised Flamengo’s performance in the 3-0 victory over Bangu, in Volta Redonda, but he is already targeting Palmeiras, an opponent in the Super Cup final, on April 11, in Brasília.

The coach emphasized the intensity shown in the Carioca game and pointed out that the 22 training sessions were decisive for the performance of his team.

“For a debut it was very good, we played with a good intensity. Mental rest helps a lot and the 22 training sessions helped a lot. We had doubts about what could yield, but the team managed 90% of the time to play on top of the opponent”, said Ceni.

The duel against the champions of the Libertadores was remembered by the commander, who is going to get the first cup of the season. Faced with the growing rivalry between the two clubs, the confrontation gained importance in Gávea and already moves Rubro-negro.

“We will try to be competitive, Palmeiras are a great team, they come from two important titles. We are getting ready. The game of the 11th is extremely important. Let’s hope that we are having a good night like today,” said Ceni.
