The extension of the restrictive measures was communicated by Fábio Baccheretti, Secretary of State for Health, this Wednesday afternoon. In a virtual press conference, Fábio informed that the continuation of the Mineiro Championship, starting this Thursday – with the sixth round -, was authorized only after a commitment by the FMF to establish stricter measures in the protocol for carrying out the matches. Testing will reach more people.

“Mineiro returns tomorrow (Thursday). This commitment was made after several meetings and conversations with the Football Federation of Minas Gerais. There was a commitment from them to expand the protocol and make it safer” – said the Secretary.

– Today, in addition to testing all players, they test everyone involved in the match, all staff involved. That is, there is periodic testing. Remembering that they are games without an audience. There was a technical alignment between the protocols of the Minas Gerais Federation and the technical team of the State Health Secretariat so that there is concrete security in the return to the games.

As will happen on Thursday, the other games of the Mineiro Championship, until the 11th, will be held only until the beginning of the night. This is because there is a curfew every day of the week, between 8 pm and 5 am, between the measures established by Onda Roxa. Team games from other states remain prohibited in Minas.

“The protocols continue to apply in relation to daytime games in the regions where there is a purple wave, restrictions in hotels, which makes us restrict games on state issues” – Fábio Baccheretti.

– All the modalities that fit in this moment of purple wave, in which there cannot be games of teams that move from other states, because they will need to use the hotel chain, these games will all be contemplated, they may occur – he completed.

Baccheretti also points out that the games played recently contributed to the permanence of people at home, mainly in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte.

– We have positive signs already experienced in the last games of the Mineiro Championship, in which they showed that the number of viewers that had televisions turned on during the games would be equivalent, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, to a very high number, showing that these people were in home.

“We have this whole scenario of health security, with games without an audience, and with a positive impact among the people who wait at home, without disrespecting, then, what is defined by Minas Consciente” – Fábio Baccheretti.
