CIC (Cambridge Innovation Center), a global leader in building innovation communities, one of the first companies to offer flexible office and coworking spaces for entrepreneurs, launches, in partnership with the MIT Enterprise Forum (MITEF), CIC Soft Landing Program, an incentive program for entrepreneurs in Latin America with 10 vacancies for Brazilian companies that want to expand their business in the international market. Registration is open until April 30th.
Each of the companies can enroll up to two participants, one necessarily having to be the entrepreneur or founder of the company, in the online course that will last for five days and will address three strategic pillars for business abroad: fundamentals to operate in the United States (legal and tax view) and knowledge of the market (knowledge of how to relate to investors and the sales process) and skills to expand their relationship network in the USA.
It is extremely difficult to start and grow a new company and that is why we partnered with CIC to help Latin American entrepreneurs make a positive impact on the world
The prerequisite for participating in online programming is innovation. The content is aimed at startups and technology companies. The Brazilian market was recognized in 2020 as the title of the 3rd largest creator of new unicorn startups in the world, evidenced by innovative solutions and the quality of professionals.
According to the senior manager of CIC, Julia Lucidi, the Latin entrepreneur who arrives in the United States does not have the basic information to enter the foreign market and this program can make all the difference. “These entrepreneurs have immense creative potential and technological baggage, but are unable to enter the American market properly. The program is the first step so that the expansion of your company to the US market is efficient, coordinated and that it achieves the expected results, without making decisions that hinder the growth of your company, increasing your ability to do business abroad ”, explains .
Currently, CIC has 2,000 innovation and entrepreneurship companies in its global network and has already supported more than 7,000 startups and technology companies. More than 10 billion dollars have already been invested in companies that are part of the CIC network. And in the next ten years, CIC hopes to expand its network of innovation centers in 50 cities around the world.
It is extremely difficult to start and grow a new company and that is why we have partnered with CIC to help Latin American entrepreneurs make a positive impact on the world. Our two organizations working together create a world-renowned center of excellence to support growing and international startups. I am proud and extremely happy to be an important part of this initiative that defines the sector ”, reports Michael Burtov, Vice President of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge and author of the book Evergreen Startup.
Miami has also achieved the status of a technology and innovation hub, which is why the region is strategic for the entry of new companies in the USA. According to The Miami-Dade Beacon Council, jobs in the technology area increased by 40% in the region between 2012 and 2017. In the city are concentrated companies such as Cisco, Microsoft, SAP and Oracle, in addition to being a diverse location, with a flow of entrepreneurs from different countries in the world.
