Brazil recorded an additional 1,319 deaths and 28,645 cases of dovid-19 in 24 hours, reported the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) this Monday (5th). With the data, the country has 13,013,601 contagions confirmed and 332,752 victims since the beginning of the pandemic.
The numbers represent a drop in data compared to the last six Mondays: 528 deaths on February 15, 639 on February 22, 778 on March 1, 987 on March 8, 1,057 on March 15, 1,383 on March 22 and 1,660 last Monday.
Sundays and Mondays are the days of least notification due to the delay of the health departments of the states to pass the numbers. However, the data from Ceará were not revealed due to technical problems.
The averages for the last seven days of deaths and infections fell, reaching 2,698 and 62,855, respectively.
The state of São Paulo continues to account for the most contamination (2,532,047) and victims (77,165) when considering the total numbers.
In deaths, the second place is Rio de Janeiro (37,693), followed by Minas Gerais (25,713), Rio Grande do Sul (20,600) and Paraná (17,405). In the cases, they appear in the sequence Minas Gerais (1,159,039), Rio Grande do Sul (860,924) and Paraná (860,424).
However, the state of Rio de Janeiro is the one with the highest lethality rate, with 5.7%, followed by Pernambuco (3.5%), Amazonas (3.4%) and São Paulo (3%). The national average, in turn, increased from 2.5% to 2.6%.
Moving average also declines
Brazil recorded 1,623 new deaths as a result of the covid-19 this Monday, 5, according to data gathered by the press consortium. The daily moving average of deaths, which uses records from the last seven days, stood at 2,698, the fourth day of decline in the number, which have remained above 2,000 since March 17.
On holidays and weekends, records show a downward trend in relation to normal working day data, which may not represent a real decrease in cases. The national daily data are from the press media consortium, formed by Estadão, G1, O Globo, Extra, Folha e Twitter in partnership with 27 state health departments. In total, the country reached 333,153 deaths this Monday.
Monday’s figures show 39,629 new confirmed cases, bringing the total to 13,023,189. According to data from the Ministry of Health, the country has 11,436,189 people recovered from the disease and 1,244,660 under medical supervision. The pandemic scenario remains worrying in Brazilian cities, which lived in March the most lethal month of the entire period so far. A projection that Brazil can reach July with more than 560 thousand deaths.
