MG: Prosecutor is arrested on suspicion of killing his wife

Prosecutor André Luís Garcia was arrested on Sunday (4) on suspicion of killing his wife Lorenza Maria Silva de Pinho, 41, on Friday (2), in Belo Horizonte (MG). The couple’s apartment was also searched. The Civil Police are investigating the case. The information is from G1 and Uol.

Lorenza had five children and was married to André. The woman’s body underwent necropsy exams at the Instituto Médico-Legal (IML). The report with the cause of death of the victim must be ready in 30 days.

The Civil Police reported that the investigations are carried out jointly with the Public Ministry. The prosecutor’s defense lawyer, Robson Lucas, said that his work will be based on what the IML reports will say. “What we are questioning is that there is no expert evidence to prove the existence of a crime. So we are waiting for the conclusion and availability of the report and the toxicological examination carried out by IML to evaluate what the defense measures will be ”, said Robson to Uol.

And note, the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais lamented the death of Lorenza. The agency also said it could not provide further details on the case, which is being handled in secret by the courts.
