In the USA, Marta receives first dose of vaccine against Covid-19

Marta, an athlete from Orlando Pride (USA) and the Brazilian national team, received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine this Monday. The 35-year-old midfielder was vaccinated in an action promoted by the American club and posted a photo of the moment the dose was applied. In the state of Florida, vaccination is allowed for people over the age of 16.

The Orlando Pride debut this season against Racing Louisville FC for the Challenge Cup on April 10th. Like the Pride athletes, the players of the male team, Orlando City, were vaccinated.

According to The New York Times, 32% of the population in the United States has already received the first dose of the vaccine at the time of publication. 18% of Americans have already taken both doses. In all, more than 165 million doses have already been administered in the country.
