Lenovo Legion 2 Pro will have trump card to fight its rivals

After a first quarter of 2021 with several new proposals for the segment mobile gaming, April will enter with the arrival of the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro. This smartphone intends to meet the new ROG Phone 5, Black Shark 4 and Red Magic 6, the three references of the segment.

To gain ground compared to its rivals, the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is preparing to include some advantages, with Lenovo officially revealing two very interesting features, which are related to the autonomy and charging.

As announced by Lenovo itself, the new smartphone will hit the market with a battery of 5,500 mAh capacity and benefit from fast charging of 90W. This configuration allows for a very interesting “middle ground” in relation to its rivals.

The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro does not give up battery capacity to provide superior fast charging

Looking at the numbers released by Lenovo, the new smartphone has a battery 1,000 mAh bigger than the Black Shark 4 Pro and Red Magic 6 Pro, being only 500 mAh lower than the ROG Phone 5. In the opposite direction, the 90W fast charging of the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is superior to the 65W charging of the Asus device, falling short of the 120W charging of the Xiaomi and Nubia proposals.

This option may be controversial, since competing companies choose to offer an excellent battery (as in the case of Asus) or top speed charging (Xiaomi and Nubia), eventually compromising one or the other option.

The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro ends up bringing together the best of both worlds, while maintaining a very respectable battery capacity, as well as the fast charging that offers an above average speed, and this middle ground could be a point in favor of smartphone in the eyes of consumers.

Lenovo has already confirmed that its new gaming smartphone will be equipped with the Snapdragon 888 and will use a large Super AMOLED screen of 6.92 inches, with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro has already gone through the Geekbench 5, in a version with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, running Android 11. However, it will almost certainly be that versions of 12GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of storage will also be made available.

With its presentation scheduled for April 8, there is little left to know in detail the new Lenovo Legion 2 Pro.
